Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company in Glen Rose, Texas is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform general analysis and implementation of generation technologies for Vistra operations and development. Responsibilities include supporting operations with new technologies, conducting root cause analysis, and contributing to economic justification for projects.

Requires a BS in engineering, PE license or equivalent experience, and about 8 years in power plant engineering.

Qualifications

BS or greater in an Engineering discipline.
Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements.
Proficient in fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant technologies.
8 years experience preferred in power plant operations / engineering or comparable industries.
Communication – must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or outside agencies.
Able to execute projects/strategies with some oversight.

Responsibilities

Technical support for the development of commercial / environmental / reliability / sustainability interests in new technology applications.
Technical support to Operations in the application of technologies at operating plants or plants in development.
Perform root cause analysis.
Provide innovative solutions for difficult problems.
Contributes to economic justification/analysis for projects.
Participate in and lead special projects or teams.
