Job summary

SE Engineering, PC is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to deliver analysis, design, and field support for critical facilities across the southeast. The role emphasizes hands-on technical work, client interaction, and growing into leadership positions.

Responsibilities include performing power system studies, testing, and on-site investigations while ensuring safety and code compliance; ideal candidates will have a BSEE and 3–7 years of experience with SKM, EasyPower, ETAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university.
• 3-7 years of experience in power system studies.
• Solid understanding of electrical distribution systems across multiple facility types.
• Willingness to travel within GA, NC, SC, or NY.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies including short circuit, protective coordination, load flow, motor starting, and arc flash hazard analysis
• Conduct power quality testing, troubleshooting, and field investigations
• Design and improve low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems
• Work with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, protective devices, and grounding systems
• Apply and interpret IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NFPA 70E, and other applicable standards
• Collaborate with clients to develop practical, safe, and code-compliant solutions
• Participate in project development, technical proposals, and client presentations
• Lead or support on-site activities with a strong emphasis on safety
• Grow toward project leadership and Engineer-in-Responsible-Charge roles as experience increases
