Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a Power Systems Engineer to safeguard electrical reliability and safety across North American sites. The role involves leading the five-year arc flash study refresh, performing QA/QC of SKM power studies, and managing the LOTO program.

You will travel 50%+ across North America to assess facilities, validate engineering data, and drive corrective actions to reduce risk. A strong background in MV/LV distribution and compliance with NFPA/IEEE standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience performing power system studies (Short Circuit, Protective Device Coordination, Arc Flash) for MV/LV industrial systems.
• 3+ years hands-on proficiency with SKM Power*Tools for Windows (PTW), including modeling, short-circuit and arc flash analyses.
• Experience independently performing technical QA/QC of power system studies and validating SKM models.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584-2018, IEEE power standards, and local codes.
• Ability to travel 50%+ across North America.
• Experience managing multiple engineering projects or technical programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the five-year arc flash study refresh program across North American facilities.
• Perform QA/QC of power system studies using SKM Power*Tools and validate models.
• Manage the North American electrical LOTO program and implementation oversight.
• Provide electrical reliability engineering support to operating facilities.
• Offer emergency on-call support and troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Coordinate with site teams and consultants to implement corrective actions.
