Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Engineering leader to drive the future of our global data center infrastructure. You will shape power and cooling architectures, guide cross-functional teams, and partner with hardware, software, supply chain, and operations to scale for the AI era.

You will prioritize safety, compliance, and efficiency, delivering roadmaps that align with executive vision and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and optimization of data center equipment, systems, and global operational strategies.
• Oversee system development across electrical, power, energy, and control systems to optimize design efficiency.
• Analyze system performance data and present technical tradeoffs to support executive decisions. Work with partners to design for constructability, reducing costs and delivery times.
• Refine engineering processes to eliminate waste while preserving and scaling successful practices.
• Influence cross-functional teams to develop and deliver technical solutions and align with technical goals.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing power HV, MV/LV systems (protection, controls, microgrids, onsite generation).
• Demonstrated understanding of NEC (National electrical code) and understanding of building codes.
• Ability to steer architectural direction across matrixed engineering teams through strong technical credibility and indirect influence.
• Ability to align executive technical leaders and executives to establish and execute technology roadmaps.
• Demonstrated track record of defining and executing long-term technical strategies/architectural goals for global data center infrastructure development teams.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $214000 - $298000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
