Job summary

K2M Design in Bentonville, AR is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to design, analyze and implement electrical systems for commercial buildings, with emphasis on Arc Flash studies using SKM software.

You will collect data, perform calculations, produce high‑quality drawings, develop technical specifications, assist field work, and coordinate with project teams; travel up to 15% is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of AEC engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, required.
  • Proficiency in Photometric, SKM Power Tools software.
  • Experience with Arc Flash or other power systems studies.
  • Revit proficiency, required.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

As an Electrical Engineer, your main responsibility will be the design, development, implementation, and analysis of electrical designs and systems. For the Arc Flash program, you will be responsible for streamlining and formalizing our program requirements and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and prepare data/information and perform engineering calculations.
  • Produce high‑quality, consistent, complete and accurate drawings.
  • Develop technical specifications and data sheets.
  • Assist in field work, checking installations, and problem‑solving activities.
  • Perform calculation checking and vendor drawing reviews.
  • Interact with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
  • Be knowledgeable in the design of electrical systems including lighting, power, life safety, security, and communication systems for commercial buildings.
  • Coordinate with project staff for resourcing availability.
  • Coordinate between all A/E disciplines on a project.
  • Ensure projects progress on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports for management, clients, or others.
  • Provide technical advice and resolve problems with project personnel.
  • Coordinate project activities with government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Handle construction administration, shop drawing review, and response to request for information.
  • Expand the company’s engineering breadth by growing and maintaining client relationships.
