Job summary

K2M Design is looking for a full-time Power Systems Assessor to support project teams in Gainesville, Florida. This role offers the chance to work fully remote for the right candidate.

Job description

Position Overview

Full‑time. A Power Systems Assessor will support project teams, deliver expert electrical assessments, and ensure compliance with project standards. The role may be based in any K2M office location or fully remote for the right candidate.

Essential Duties
  • Maintain secure business partnerships and relationships with key clients, consultants, groups, organizations, and teams.
  • Represent K2M Design in an upbeat and professional manner on site in client facilities.
  • Do not post project workload on any social media platform as most project work is confidential.
  • Coordinate with the Team Leader, Project Manager, and if unavailable with the Director for all project‑related tasks.
  • Review and have a thorough understanding of condition assessment practices and procedures.
  • Attend all department meetings and follow up on decisions that affect efficient work practices.
  • Confere with the Team Leader to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Execute multiple projects concurrently.
  • Perform minimal drafting work as required on projects to meet client expectations.

Requirements
  • Experience with electrical construction, project management, and troubleshooting is a plus but not required.
  • Electrical license preferred, not required; ability to learn NEC code issues.
  • Comfortable using MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to identify or learn to identify architectural elements and MEP systems outside the electrical trade, including structural, HVAC, refrigeration, etc.
  • Clean driver’s license with no DUI or serious infractions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Available for travel to different locations; 60‑80% of work time is reserved for traveling, alone or as part of a team.
  • Responsibility for maintaining, storing, and transporting K2M‑provided tools and PPE to job sites.
