Job summary

MISO is hiring to serve as the central representative for G&I Operations in the Control Room, partnering with operators, leadership, Product Owners, and tech teams to translate operational needs into strategic capabilities.

You will drive enhancements across Control Room applications, shaping requirements, prioritizing fixes, and influencing product strategy to improve reliability and operator experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–8 years of experience in power system operations, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in Generation & Interchange operations within a control room or reliability environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and process improvements.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence without authority and collaborate across multiple teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights.
• Proficiency with tools such as EMD, RTD, EMS, and OpLog; intermediate MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support and serve as an expert on G&I tools, processes, and workflows.
• Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvements that drive reliability, consistency, and performance.
• Develop and maintain the operational vision and roadmap for G&I tools.
• Convert operator feedback and operational challenges into prioritized business requirements.
• Influence product strategy, design, testing, and adoption across Control Room technology initiatives.
• Facilitate after-action reviews to identify root causes, track corrective actions, and embed lessons learned.
• Translate operational challenges into strategic recommendations for leadership and technology partners.
• Champion standardization and integration across Control Room applications to enhance the operator experience.
