Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in the United States is seeking a Power Systems Automation Engineer to help customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure worldwide. You will develop solutions and provide services that automate power systems tasks and integrate SEL products.

A typical day includes maintaining knowledge of power systems and SCADA, visiting customers for demonstrations and training, applying engineering principles to solve problems, and contributing to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 3+ years of experience in power systems automation.
• Experience with SCADA, IEC 61850, and DNP3 protocols.
• Experience with SEL relays and RTUs/RTACs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of power systems, SCADA, integration system automation, and SEL products.
• Assist customers via visits, demonstrations, training courses and phone contact.
• Apply principles, theories, standard techniques, and concepts to solve problems.
• Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software, and literature.
• Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences.
• Teach SEL University courses within core area.
