Requirements

We seek a team player motivated by delivering excellent work aligned with Hitachi’s vision. The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience as a Power System Research Scientist in electric power distribution and transmission systems
• Research experience in power system analysis of both distribution and transmission
• Ability to collaborate with utility partners, academic institutions, and government agencies
• Publication record in peer-reviewed journals

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 1-3 years of experience in power systems
• Expertise in distribution and transmission system analysis
• Knowledge of power flow, stability, and contingency analysis (preferred)
• Knowledge of economic analysis, smart grid technologies, microgrids, DER management, and control systems (preferred)
• Proficiency in Python (required)
• Experience with AI/ML algorithms (preferred)
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, OpenDSS, PSSE, or GridLAB-D (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits

For California, the expected salary range is $113,800 - $142,250, based on experience. Employees are eligible for variable pay programs. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered under applicable laws.
