Base pay range

$135,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Cheminformatics Scientist

We have partnered with a well-funded, venture-backed biotech is redefining small-molecule drug discovery by placing machine learning at the core of its platform. Using advanced generative models tightly integrated with chemical and pharmacological expertise, the company accelerates hit identification and lead optimization. Their ML-driven approach accounts for real-world drug discovery constraints and has delivered results in partnerships with top pharma companies. With fresh funding and internal programs scaling, they’re expanding their scientific team. Work onsite in Vancouver, Canada or remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cheminformatics Scientist to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on managing and analyzing chemical datasets, developing tools to coordinate data, and applying cheminformatics techniques to support drug discovery efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling large-scale chemical data, coding for data integration, and a solid understanding of drug discovery processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cheminformatics tools and workflows to manage and analyze chemical datasets.
  • Coordinate and integrate diverse data sources to support drug discovery projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including computational chemists and machine learning scientists, to provide data-driven insights.
  • Apply cheminformatics methods to identify patterns and relationships in chemical data.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across various platforms and databases.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in cheminformatics or related areas.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with experience using cheminformatics libraries like RDKit.
  • Experience with database management and data integration techniques.
  • Strong understanding of drug discovery data and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
