Base pay range

$115,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Job Details

• Titles: Power Systems Engineer
• Location: REMOTE (PST preferred)
• Shift Time: M-F 8am-5pm PST
• Salary: FLEXIBLE for the right candidate ($115k - $170k)

Must Haves

• Master’s in electrical engineering (power engineering preferred)
• 10+ years of experience for SENIOR role; 5+ years for MID level role
• Experience defining power flow and loss calculations across transformers and transmission lines
• Knowledge of inverter-based resources (solar, wind, ESS) integration into transmission/distribution systems
• Familiarity with microgrids, substation relays, protection schemes, and load management
• Experience with power system modeling using ETAP or similar software
• Understanding of grid codes, interconnection standards, and regulations (NERC, IEEE, FERC)
• Experience working with utilities, ISOs, renewable energy developers

Plusses

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with high-voltage resource distribution (renewables, PV/BESS, solar, wind, batteries)
• Programming skills (Python, MATLAB) for automation and data analysis

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

The Power Systems Engineer reports to the Senior Director of SCADA and plays a key role in generating, transmitting, distributing, and utilizing electric power, ensuring systems are efficient and compliant with safety standards and regulations. Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with consulting teams
• Integrating PV/BESS or microgrids
• Preparing and submitting design drawings
• Developing control strategies and sequences
• Reviewing documentation
