Communication Data Link in Marion, IA is seeking a Power Supply Laborer to install and secure cable pedestals in underground telecom systems, support crews with excavation and backfilling, and restore sites after work.
You will travel to multiple sites, work outdoors, handle hand tools, and follow OSHA safety standards. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
As a Power Supply Laborer, you will be responsible for installing, setting, and securing cable pedestals used in underground telecommunications systems. This role supports cable, fiber, and utility construction crews by performing excavation, pedestal placement, backfilling, and basic cable management while following safety and company standards. You will also close out the job by restoring the job site to ensure that minimal disturbance is seen.
Standard Work Week: Monday-Friday; 7 am – 5 pm; Weekend work may be required with little or no notice; work schedule determined by season, weather, deadlines, and availability of work
At times, the employee may be assigned to a job site where several overnight stays are required. Marion will be the main office, but on occasion it will be required to travel to Waterloo, and Iowa city.
at times will be exposed to various contaminants, like exhausted vapors, gas/diesel fumes, and dust; be subjected to noisy conditions; diverse weather conditions, including high heat (over 90°), freezing conditions (below 15°), and all forms of precipitation (high humidity/snow/rain)
May require standing, kneeling, digging, and bending for extended periods. Able to frequently move objects weighing more than 100lbs for distances greater than fifty feet; remain in a stationary position for several hours; able to move from one location to another around the Jobsite; must be able to manipulate various controls on equipment; ability to constantly be able to reposition oneself.
