Job summary

Evergy is seeking a Generation Development Real Estate Project Manager to lead site-control, land acquisitions, and related due diligence for new conventional and renewable power projects. You will coordinate title, surveys, and stakeholder relationships while managing budgets and schedules.

The role involves cross-functional teams across engineering, regulatory, finance, and permitting, driving risk reduction and strategic decision points throughout project development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, finance, economics, construction management, engineering, geography, legal studies or related field.
• Minimum of two years in land acquisition, right of way, utility real estate, or related field.
• Experience negotiating easements, leases, purchase agreements, or similar instruments.
• Knowledge of title review, surveys, and land due diligence.
• Experience managing multiple projects, schedules, budgets, and deadlines with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead real estate strategies for power plants, storage facilities, renewable generation, and related infrastructure.
• Negotiate, prepare, amend, renew, and terminate real estate instruments.
• Coordinate land/title due diligence and curative work.
• Direct ALTA/NSPS surveys, boundary surveys, and GIS deliverables.
• Manage land-related schedules, budgets, and milestone tracking.
• Engage landowners and coordinate stakeholder communications.
• Support land-use approvals and agency coordination.
• Oversee land consultants and service providers.
• Assess land-related risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Coordinate closings, title policies, and transfers.
• Maintain records and handoffs to construction and operations.
