Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Performance & Reliability Intern in Dayton, OH or Indianapolis, IN to collaborate with engineers and analysts on data-driven reliability decisions.

You will gain hands-on experience analyzing outage data, reliability metrics, and asset health information, and contribute to dashboards and reporting tools using Excel, Power BI, and related software while learning the energy industry.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in engineering, data analytics, CS, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of Excel; interest in data analysis and visualization.
• Interest in Power BI, SQL, Python; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze outage data to identify patterns and causes.
• Validate reliability metrics SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI.
• Support asset health analyses and prioritization.
• Build dashboards and visuals in Power BI.
• Clean and validate data from multiple utility systems.
• Document data sources and methodologies.
• Support projects on reliability improvement and planning.
