Power Project Engineer – Field & Office Operations

Job summary

TIC Power District seeks a mid-level professional for field and office engineering support in power generation projects. You’ll work across field operations, project controls, safety, and contract administration, with regular relocation as projects demand.

Relocation to various project sites is common; strong reading of drawings, cost tracking, and collaboration with subcontractors are essential. A background in electrical, mechanical, or piping construction is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' field experience in electrical, mechanical or piping within construction or industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Assist in managing Document Control in the field.
• Perform quantity calculations from measurements and completed work percentage.
• Assist in work plans and packages preparation.
• Assist field surveying and layout support including elevations and control points.
• Support quality inspections and sign-off documentation per the quality plan.
• Assist in labor timekeeping and daily cost calculations.
• Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and safety meetings.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; coordinate work groups on site.
• Supervise field operations and assist in managing subcontractors.
• Perform material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations.
• Assist data gathering for submittals; support transmittals to customers/vendors.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontracts; assist in solicitations and purchasing.
• Assist with document control to maintain current revisions.
• Maintain project records including daily reports, RFIs, and memos.
• Enter data into cost systems and review cost reports with management.
• Assist in change orders and as-built data for PM review.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
