Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; 5–8 years of related professional experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Proven experience with data modeling, relational schema design, and enterprise dashboard visualization best practices.
• Practical understanding of Microsoft Dataverse table architecture, relationships, security roles, and business rules.
• Experience integrating and analyzing data from multiple systems and data sources.
• Experience translating business and technical requirements into analytics, automation, and reporting solutions.
• Experience with JSON, and knowledge of DAX, SQL, Python is a plus.
• Experience with GFEBS and Army financial data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Canvas Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI reports to support mission and business operations.
• Build data models and visualizations that integrate information from multiple sources for informed decision-making.
• Perform end-to-end solution development from requirements gathering to deployment and sustainment.
• Develop dashboards and reports using data visualization best practices for clear, actionable insights.
• Provide support for Army-hosted Power BI and related Microsoft 365 environments; create technical documentation and user guides.

Power Platform Developer / Solutions Architect

Job Description: Thompson Gray is seeking a motivated and experienced Power Platform Developer / Solutions Architect to support the U.S. Army in Huntsville, Alabama. This role will support digital business transformation efforts by designing, developing, and sustaining data analytics products, workflow automations, and business applications. The selected candidate will work closely with functional owners, subject matter experts, analysts, and end users to translate business and technical requirements into effective data-driven solutions. The role includes developing applications in Power Apps, automating workflows with Power Automate, and building executive-ready dashboards and reports in Power BI.

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Telework: May be authorized

Clearance: Must have an active Secret clearance

Travel: Occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, analysts, and end users to gather requirements and identify business process improvement opportunities.
• Design, develop, and maintain Canvas Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI reports to support mission and business operations.
• Build data models and visualizations that integrate information from multiple sources and support decision-making at all organizational levels.
• Perform end-to-end solution development, including requirements gathering, data source identification, data wrangling, data modeling, report development, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
• Develop dashboards and reports using data visualization best practices to present complex information in a clear and actionable format.
• Support administration, configuration, maintenance, and sustainment of Army-hosted Power BI and related Microsoft 365 environments.
• Provide technical and functional support for digital processes, knowledge management solutions, and workflow automation initiatives.
• Create technical documentation, user guides, and related product documentation.

Position Requirements:

• Clearance: Active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline with 5–8 years of related professional experience.
• Power Platform Expertise:
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Proven experience with data modeling, relational schema design, and enterprise dashboard visualization best practices.
• Practical understanding of Microsoft Dataverse table architecture, relationships, security roles, and business rules.
• Experience integrating and analyzing data from multiple systems and data sources.
• Experience translating business and technical requirements into practical analytics, automation, and reporting solutions.
• Experience with JSON, DAX, SQL, Python, or other advanced data query languages is a plus.
• Experience with GFEBS and Army financial data is a plus.
