Job summary

Cleco is seeking a Power Plant Technician II to monitor and operate a Louisiana power plant on rotating 12-hour shifts. You will ensure reliable energy delivery, perform on-shift maintenance, and support safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3-5+ years of related experience, strong teamwork and communication, and a commitment to safety and continuous learning in a dynamic plant environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with related vocational or technical training preferred.
• 3-5+ years of related experience.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job.
• Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment and communicating clearly.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates power plant to meet energy operations and transmission needs.
• Operates plant equipment during start up, normal, and emergency operations safely.
• Performs maintenance activities on shift; supports maintenance teams as required.
• Investigates and reports equipment problems to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Conducts safety meetings and follows Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and other procedures.
• Trains entry-level technicians and communicates plant status updates to supervision.
