Job summary

At CAMS, we seek a seasoned leader to oversee the Bergen Generating Station's start-up, shutdown, operation, and maintenance of power plant equipment in Ridgefield, NJ. You will direct station teams, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with ESOC and Trading to maximize unit availability.

The role demands a strong background in power generation operations, evident leadership, and the ability to work rotating shifts. A NJ Blue Seal Boiler License is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years operations experience in power generation facilities and/or similar industrial facilities and field.
• Computer literacy with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must possess and maintain a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal.
• Understanding of federal, state, municipal and local permit limitations, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership abilities.
• Ability to work rotating shifts with rotating days off.
• Able to foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity.
• Successful candidate must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.
• Able to attain a NJ Blue Seal Boiler License.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant operations staff and supervise bargaining unit associates.
• Ensure safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, and economic plant operation.
• Coordinate daily and outage-related work to maintain unit availability.
• Coordinate operation of generating units with ESOC and Trading.
• Communicate with outside agencies, internal and external clients.
• Provide leadership and motivation through training, coaching, and appraisal.
• Maintain compliance with station and corporate procedures and policies.
• Act as on-site authority in absence of plant management and as Incident Commander during upset conditions.
