Job summary

Bergen Generating Station is seeking a shift supervisor to provide strong leadership in start-up, shutdown, operation, and maintenance of power plant equipment in Ridgefield, NJ. The role includes directing station staff, ensuring safe and economical operation, and coordinating outages and daily work.

Applicants must have 8+ years of relevant experience, a valid NJ driver’s license, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years operations experience in power generation facilities.
• NJ driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bargaining unit associates to lead the plant operations staff.
• Ensure safe, reliable, and economical plant operation.
• Coordinate daily and outage work to maintain unit availability.
• Coordinate operation of generating units with ESOC and Trading.
• Communicate with outside agencies and clients.
• Lead training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain compliance with procedures and policies.
• Act as Incident Commander during upset conditions.
