Job summary

NRG Energy in Houston, Texas, seeks an experienced Operations Shift Manager who will assume overall operational management of an active power-plant shift. You will supervise personnel, ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective unit operation, and act to correct abnormal situations in emergencies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Business with related discipline plus 4 years of utility-scale plant experience, or a high school diploma with 8 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline combined with 4 years of operations experience at a utility level power plant.
• In lieu of degree, High School Diploma combined with 8 years of operations experience at utility level power plant.
• Experience leading/supervising power plant employees, including bargaining unit employees.
• Comprehensive knowledge of power plant systems and operations.
