Job summary

City of Burbank operates a turbo electric generating plant and seeks a Power Plant Operator to manage boiler controls, monitor plant instrumentation, and maintain logs on a rotating shift. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, two years boiler experience (or completion of a Power Plant Operator Trainee program) and a solid grasp of safety standards and water treatment.

You will train new operators, support maintenance activities, and assist with plant operations during non-peak periods.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of high-pressure boiler operation and plant safety practices.
• Ability to observe, record and interpret plant data accurately.
• Willingness to work rotating/relief shifts and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate boiler controls and monitor plant instrumentation.
• Perform rounds, adjust loads, log data and fuel consumption.
• Maintain lubrication and water treatment records.
• Assist in maintenance and train new operators as needed.
• Drive on City business when required.
