Job summary

Douglas County Forest Products is seeking an experienced Boiler Operator/Turbine to monitor and operate the facility's boiler system and related equipment. The role focuses on safe, reliable, and continuous plant operations with a rotating 12-hour shift schedule in Roseburg, OR.

Ideal candidates have boiler/industrial experience; a high school diploma or GED is preferred, with certification/license if required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous boiler, industrial, manufacturing, sawmill, mechanical, or maintenance experience preferred.
• Boiler operator certification or license, if required.
• Basic knowledge of boiler and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read gauges, meters, and controls.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boilers, burners, pumps, fans, conveyors, and fuel systems.
• Monitor boiler pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel supply.
• Make adjustments to maintain safe and efficient operation.
• Perform routine inspections and identify equipment issues.
• Monitor water treatment systems and perform blowdowns.
• Maintain accurate operating logs and records.
• Keep the boiler room and work areas clean and safe.
• Report hazards, equipment issues, and other concerns.
