Job summary

Talen Energy is seeking a Power Plant Auxiliary Operator / Operator Trainee for the Lawrenceburg facility in Indiana. The role requires vocational training or mechanical experience, with preference for 2–4 years of power plant experience.

The position involves operating and maintaining gas-fired turbine equipment, demineralizers, and supporting plant upgrades. Responsibilities include equipment inspections, data logging, housekeeping, and participation in outages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or technical school preferred.
• Vocational training and/or mechanical experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform piping and conduit installation for system upgrades/modifications.
• Operate demineralizers, compressors, and turbine components.
• Maintain equipment by tightening fittings and replacing parts.
• Read meters, gauges, and devices to verify operating conditions.
• Assist with root cause analysis of failures and improvements.
• Open/close circuit breakers and assist in outages.
• Manage CMMS data and coordinate with vendors for repairs.
