Job summary

Indeck Energy Services in Olean, NY, seeks a power plant operator with combined cycle power plant experience. The role involves work with boilers, high-pressure steam, gas, and steam turbines, plus mechanical, welding and electrical tasks. Overtime, rotating shifts, and safety compliance are expected.

Responsibilities include inspecting and controlling equipment, performing repairs, and maintaining accurate logs. HV safety, respirator use, and ability to work without sponsorship are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in high voltage and/or instrumentation and controls preferred.
• Military veterans with electrical generation/I&C maintenance experience are a plus.
• Power plant experience is a plus.
• Must be able to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Respirators and safety equipment usage is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, adjust and control power production equipment to ensure safe, legal, continuous and efficient operation.
• Communicate effectively using oral and written methods.
• Perform repairs and assist others in repairs to all equipment.
• Handle treated water analysis and actions to maintain systems within limits.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned.
• Take actions to prevent environmental excursions and monitor for irregularities.
• Maintain journals, logs, maintenance records, and reports.
• Occasionally support maintenance at other Indeck facilities.
