Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Generation Operator I at Crystal River North to participate in the FHOF Generation Operator Development Program, including hands-on training in electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical maintenance. The role requires journeyman operator experience and a pathway to certification within 18 months.

Candidates must meet basic qualifications, navigate a rotating shift schedule, and be able to work around energized equipment while adhering to safety and LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 3 years as a journeyman power station operator or 3 years in ancillary power ops in a military context.
• Must achieve test-recommended score on EEI MASS at the I&C level and POSS tests.
• Preferred: Associate degree or military equivalent in a related technical field; Navy Nuclear Experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Train and shadow on board watch, plant rounds, and log maintenance across control center and safety protocols.
• Develop skills in basic troubleshooting and repair of Plant, FGD, and WWT equipment, and coordinate with leadership for work orders.
• Perform water chemistry duties including sampling, analysis, and instrument calibrations.
