Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation in Crystal River, FL is seeking a Generation Operator I (GO). The role requires journeyman qualification and training under the FHOF Generation Operator Development Program, with rotations, plant rounds, and maintenance progression across electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical fields.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with related power station experience; EEI MASS at I&C level and POSS tests are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with 3 years directly related experience as a journeyman power station operator.
• Must achieve test-recommended score on EEI MASS at the I&C level and the POSS tests.
• Navy Nuclear Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Training and instructional assignments in board watch and plant rounds; maintain logs and ensure LOTO procedures.
• Troubleshooting and repair of Plant, FGD, and WWT equipment; identify equipment needing journeyman repair and initiate work orders.
• Water chemistry duties including water softener, demineralizer, polisher operation; sampling and analyzer calibrations.
