Job summary

We Energies in Oak Creek, Wisconsin is seeking a Plant Operator to join our generation facilities team. This rotating shift position requires the ability to operate equipment, monitor instruments, and maintain safe, reliable operations.

The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, log data, assist with fuel handling, and support ongoing plant operations. Union represented, with opportunities to train and advance within WEC Energy Group.

Qualifications

• Will require the use of a respirator in certain situations.
• Physical Capacity Evaluation may be required to demonstrate ability to perform the job functions.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift changes.

Responsibilities

• Operate generation facilities and associated equipment.
• Investigate abnormal conditions, initiate corrective action, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Start and regulate equipment locally and remotely to meet generation needs.
• Log data and maintain accurate records of operations and maintenance.
• Isolate equipment, switch gear, and assist with Energy Controls Process if trained.
• Operate and maintain fuel handling equipment and plant service vehicles.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in pumps, motors, valves, and turbines.
• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Keep the work area safe, clean, and orderly.
• Support periodic maintenance inspections and plant repairs.
