Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Power Plant Operator to join the Florence Maintenance Team and support patient care by operating and maintaining the central heating and cooling systems.

The role runs full-time with a typical Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, ensuring reliable operation of boilers, pumps, and chillers. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in a central plant or similar equipment environment, with knowledge of steam systems and BAS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and post-secondary maintenance training.
• Experience with central plant equipment, boilers, chillers, pumps and control systems.
• Familiarity with Building Automation System (BAS) and related software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain steam, hot water, domestic and chilled water systems to the Medical Center.
• Operate boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers and related equipment.
• Monitor chemical levels and adjust treatment per the program.
• Respond to equipment emergencies following SOPs and safety rules.
• Document routine events in log sheets and systems.
• Monitor Building Automation System alarms and operate related equipment.
• Perform other duties and support Plant Engineering during shifts.
