Job summary

Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company, part of the PPL Corporation family, are regulated utilities serving more than 1.3 million customers. The entry level position involves power plant operations and/or maintenance with a strong emphasis on safety and training.

You will follow all safety rules, complete required training, and contribute to a positive work environment while preparing for higher classifications.

Qualifications

• General Qualifications: Must meet all general qualifications of employment.
• Safety: Must be able and willing to comply with all safety rules.
• Physical ability: Must be able to safely perform physical requirements of the job.
• Development: Must possess the willingness and ability to acquire necessary knowledge and skills to advance to higher classifications.
• Training: Must have successfully completed all required testing and training programs promulgated by the company.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules, procedures and practices.
• Actively participate in and complete assigned training and development activities and requirements.
• Promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury.
• Perform duties of lower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and within capabilities, including training for higher classification.
• Keep all equipment, tools, materials, and work areas clean and orderly.
• Work in a responsible and cooperative manner to foster a positive working environment.
• Represent the Company to the community with attention to conduct, appearance and attitude.
