Job summary

Entergy Texas, Inc.-GTX is seeking an Operations Technician to join a rotating shift focused on safe, reliable plant operation. You will monitor power plant equipment, start and stop units, and maintain water chemistry while performing routine rounds.

This role offers progression through Maintenance Operator levels up to Operations Technician, with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associates degree preferred in Process Technology, Instrumentation, or Electronics.
• 0–2 years of experience in Operations or a related field; entry level accepted.
• Power plant operations, equipment operation, or maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate turbine, generator and boiler systems safely in a rotating shift.
• Monitor equipment, start/stop units, and maintain water chemistry.
• Perform routine operator rounds and lubrication of rotating equipment.
• Ensure units operate within safety and environmental procedures.
• Prepare records and reports and perform housekeeping duties.
