Job summary

The position supports growth through Maintenance Operator levels up to Operations Technician, with overtime as needed and a focus on safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost. Experience level ranges from entry to journeyman.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Associates: Process Technology, Instrumentation and Controls, or Electronics college degree or equivalent work experience.
• 0 - 2 years of experience in Operations or similar field. Entry level with a background in Process Technology/Instrumentation.
• Equipment Operation experience. Power Plant and/or Maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of the elementary principles of mechanical measuring devices, instruments, controls, and regulating devices as used in steam electric plants.
• Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS test.

Responsibilities

• Place in-service, or remove from service, and operate turbine, generator and boiler systems and related equipment in a safe manner.
• Inspect and maintain electrical, instrumentation and mechanical equipment; check gauges and controls.
• Perform routine operator rounds; monitor water chemistry and ensure units operate within specifications.
• Prepare records and reports; perform housekeeping and safety tasks; operate the control room under emergency conditions.
