Job summary

Southern Power is seeking an Operations Technician at SPC Plant Addison in Thomaston, GA to operate and maintain GE 7FA dual-fuel gas turbines at a peaking facility with four units and 668 MW total capacity.

You'll troubleshoot mechanical, controls and electrical systems, manage plant inventory, and maintain maintenance records in Maximo, supporting a 24/7 operations schedule while prioritizing safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years experience in operation and maintenance of gas turbine power plants preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, controls and electrical systems and perform repairs as necessary.
• Maintain plant maintenance records in a computer-based work order system (Maximo).

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain GE 7FA dual-fuel gas turbines at a peaking facility.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, controls, and electrical systems; perform repairs as needed.
• Manage inventory of parts and supplies for the plant control system; maintain Maximo records.
• Support a 24/7 operations schedule with emphasis on safety and reliability.
