Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York is seeking an Operating Supervisor to oversee electric energy and steam energy production, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of power plant equipment including boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliaries.

The role requires extensive experience in power plant operations, strong safety adherence, shift supervision, and coordination with System Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 3 years' experience or Associate's + 4 years or High School + 5 years
• Bachelor's in Engineering with 3 years' work in powerplant/related environment preferred
• 3–5 years' experience in power plant, Navy, or merchant shipping environment
• 3–5 years' supervisory experience preferred
• License: Driver's License; NYC Stationary Engineer's License preferred (1.5 years)

Responsibilities

• Oversee startup/shutdown of equipment under normal and emergency conditions
• Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment
• Develop personnel through training and coaching
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with company rules and procedures
• Coordinate with System Operations and CIG; prepare trouble reports
