Job summary

Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company is seeking a Station Helper to perform the operation and maintenance of turbines, boilers, generators, pollution control equipment, including related plant and yard equipment.

Under supervision and on rotating shifts, you will follow safety rules, assist training, report issues, and contribute to housekeeping, data recording, and basic inspections to ensure efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• Speak, understand, read, and write English and follow written and oral instructions.
• Education or knowledge equivalent to high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass driver’s test for company vehicles.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to learn and advance to higher classifications.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, procedures and practices.
• Assist training of other employees in correct operating procedures.
• Report to assigned locations for training and participate in training activities.
• Maintain clean and orderly equipment, tools, and work areas.
• Perform routine and non-routine housekeeping and participate in plant/yard operations.
