Job summary

PPL Corporation, via Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company, offers an intern level position for students pursuing technical degrees in the Louisville area. • Assist in startup and shutdown of plant equipment including monitoring and operating plant and responding to events and emergencies.
• Assist in operating controls and devices for proper plant operation; coordinate unit operation with Generation Dispatch and Transmission Operations as required.
• Assist employees in carrying out work assignments.
• Clean equipment undergoing repairs, handle and move material, supplies and equipment in connection with the work and work area.
• Be able to learn to make and read simple drawings and sketches.
• Prepare and take the Edison Electrical Institute (EEI) POSS/MASS test measuring job responsive aptitude, ability to retain knowledge, and problem solving skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
