Job summary

National Salvage & Service Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the McBain Power Plant. You will plan, schedule and perform repairs and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure reliability.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, equipment knowledge, and collaboration with safety and ops teams. The candidate should have strong mechanical skills, be comfortable working with CMMS, and be able to read drawings and install equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 5 years in an industrial/power setting as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and valid Michigan driver's license.
• Journeyman-level mechanical knowledge and diagram literacy.
• Experience with CMMS programs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors and more.
• Complete work orders safely and efficiently to maintain plant systems.
• Support and utilize the CMMS (eMaint) for work requests and close-out.
• Provide technical input to improve plant systems and processes.
• Oversee contractors and manage scopes and bids as needed.
• Assist with installation of new mechanical equipment.
• Participate in safety programs and risk assessments.
• Assist with inventory management and purchasing requisitions.
