Job summary

Vistra is seeking a maintenance technician to service instrumentation, control, electrical and mechanical systems at a GT24 combined-cycle plant. The role involves routine and emergency work, calibration of boiler and turbine controls, and ensuring safe, reliable operation.

Compensation is $40–$50 per hour depending on experience. Requires 4–6 years of maintenance experience in power facilities, knowledge of safety rules and CMMS (Maximo), and ability to work outdoors and on-call.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of maintenance experience in power generation facilities or similar industrial facilities

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on plant instrumentation, control, electrical and mechanical systems
• Provide technical troubleshooting for instrumentation, control, electrical and mechanical issues
• Inspect, repair, install and remove motors, generators, transformers, switches, breakers, MCCs and cabling up to 4160V
• Tune and calibrate boiler controls for safe, optimum boiler performance
• Calibrate turbine controls and valve actuators for safe turbine performance
• Maintain and calibrate all plant instrumentation to provide reliable operational information
• Document and maintain records of maintenance history
• Maintain CEMS according to state and federal guidelines
• Troubleshoot and repair plant electronic and pneumatic systems and process control equipment
• Know safety policies, especially LOTO, chemical handling and rotating machinery
• Experience with rotating equipment maintenance (pumps, seals, turbines, generators)
• Knowledge of heat recovery steam generators and related piping systems
• Able to locate and fix defects in mechanical equipment
• Capable of working outdoors in various conditions
• Able to use computers and hand-held tools
• Must climb stairs and ladders to 75 feet+
• Occasionally work in confined spaces
• Pass respirator fit test
• PPE required for some duties
• Ability to work on-call and overtime as needed
