Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is seeking a Plant Engineer to support capital projects at the Fort St. Vrain Power Plant. The role is a 1-year contract and onsite in Platteville, CO.

The successful candidate will provide technical oversight, perform design reviews, and collaborate with operations, project management, and external engineering partners to ensure safe, efficient project execution in accordance with engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline required).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience supporting power generation facilities, industrial facilities, plant engineering, or reliability engineering environments.
• Strong experience conducting technical design reviews.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting P&IDs.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, piping systems, valve selection, and equipment specifications.
• Experience supporting capital project execution and engineering project reviews.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for capital project execution activities at the Fort St. Vrain Power Plant.
• Conduct technical design reviews and ensure compliance with plant engineering standards and design basis requirements.
• Review and evaluate project documentation, engineering packages, technical inquiries, and proposed design changes.
• Support project scoping, planning, and engineering development efforts.
• Review and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, contractors, and external engineering firms throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide technical guidance regarding mechanical systems, piping systems, valves, equipment specifications, and plant processes.
• Support technical evaluation and oversight of combustion turbine-related projects.
• Identify and resolve engineering issues while maintaining alignment with safety, operational, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as an independent contributor responsible for driving engineering reviews and project support activities.
