Job summary

Arke is seeking a Contract Electrical Technician to support maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and repair of electrical systems in a power generation facility. The role requires experience with medium- and high-voltage equipment, motors, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and control systems, while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in power plants, industrial facilities, or oil & gas.
• Experience with 480V through high-voltage electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background, drug, and safety screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults using drawings, schematics, and testing equipment.
• Install, repair, and commission motors, transformers, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, and control panels.
• Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure OSHA/NFPA 70E compliance.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and voltage testing.
• Calibrate and maintain electrical instrumentation and protective relays.
• Support plant outages, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain maintenance records and complete work orders accurately.
• Work with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
