Job summary

Vistra is seeking electricians to support the maintenance team at the Odessa-Ector Power Plant in Odessa, Texas. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and preventive maintenance on plant electrical systems.

Ideal candidates have high school or GED, with trade training and a Texas journeyman license preferred. Experience with CMMS, Maximo, and SAP is desirable, and incumbents will work a rotating call-out schedule with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade school, military service training programs, or tech training preferred.
• Texas journeyman electrical license preferred.
• Prior electrical experience required; heavy industrial electrical experience preferred.
• Must read prints/schematics and be familiar with CMMS.
• Familiarity with Maximo is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on breakers, switchgear, switch yards, motor control centers, AC & DC circuitry, electrical disconnects, transformers, lighting panels, HVAC, UPS, batteries, chargers, inverters, and VFDs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems using diagrams, protection schemes, P&IDs, equipment specs and vendor manuals.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment safely.
• Test and calibrate protective relays, meters and monitoring equipment.
• Document maintenance activities and test results in CMMS.
• Support plant outage activities as required.
• Assist in Lock-Out-Tag-Out program development and administration.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental procedures including LOTO, JSA, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE.
• Position level determined by skills/experience; rotating call-out schedule.
