Job summary
La Paloma Power Facility in McKittrick, California, seeks an entry-level Controls Engineer, DCS, to support the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of its control and automation systems in a modern natural gas-fired plant.
Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, you will assist with DCS, SCADA, PLCs, and related instrumentation, collaborating with Operations and Contractors to ensure safe, reliable plant operation while developing expertise in power generation controls.
Qualifications
- Entry-level position supporting DCS and automation systems in a power plant.
- Requires foundational knowledge in DCS/PLC/SCADA, instrumentation, and control concepts.
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and optimization of the plant's DCS, PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and automation infrastructure.
- Support investigation and resolution of control system issues under guidance of senior staff.
- Contribute to development, testing, and commissioning of control logic modifications and upgrades.
