Job summary

NAES seeks a Shift Supervisor for the CXA La Paloma Power Facility near Bakersfield, CA, to safely and efficiently run steam and electricity production during shifts. You will assume CRO duties and oversee all on-shift operations, maintenance, and engineering activities, ensuring compliance with safety and operating standards.

The role requires leadership, strong knowledge of power plant operations, and the ability to make critical decisions.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related field preferred; experience may substitute for education.
• Proven leadership skills in guiding teams for safe and efficient plant operation.
• Experience as a Control Room Operator (CRO) in a power plant or similar setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of power plant safety procedures, including high-energy systems and chemical handling.
• Proficiency in instrumentation and control, boiler and turbine controls, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of station operations, including startup/shutdown of main components and duties of CRO.
• Ensure site safety requirements are implemented and observed; conduct site tours for compliance.
• Maintain shift operating logs, downtime records, and production/performance indices.
• Direct corrective actions and coordinate inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
• Manage consumables, inventories, and proper switching/ tagging of equipment.
