Job summary

NAES is seeking a Controls Engineer, DCS, for the La Paloma Power Facility in California. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing the plant’s Distributed Control System, turbine controls, PLCs, HMIs, and associated automation infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will work with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to implement improvements, troubleshoot complex issues, and support regulatory compliance and plant performance goals.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical training required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with DCS, PLCs, SCADA or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, cybersecurity, and control-system best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, program, and optimize the plant’s DCS, turbine controls, PLCs, HMIs, and automation infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors to solve control-system issues.
  • Develop and commission control logic changes, software enhancements, and automation solutions to improve reliability.
  • Maintain interfaces between plant control systems, historians, and business/environmental systems.
  • Support CEMS operation and regulatory reporting interfaces.
