Job summary

Dominion Energy in Charleston, SC seeks a Power Plant CT Operator-Apprentice to join the Southern Gas Turbine Generating group. You will troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, perform I&C and mechanical maintenance, and operate turbine-generating equipment in a dynamic plant environment.

The role requires 2–4 years of related work experience with a high school diploma or GED, plus a preference for an associate degree in electronics engineering technology or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 6 months+ may count toward a year.
• Education/experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance emphasized on electrical.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and digital control system problems related to turbines/generators.
• Experience inspecting and maintaining turbines, motors, pumps, fans, compressors, and valves in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, instrumentation, control, switchgear, exciter, and mechanical problems.
• Perform I&C and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
• Operate all plant equipment.
• Perform other manual or administrative work as assigned.
