Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC is seeking a qualified Control Room Operator for the Odessa Ector Power Plant in Odessa, Texas. The role involves operating gas and steam turbines, managing water treatment, and supporting plant performance.

The position requires completing and maintaining operator qualifications in accordance with the plant program, with a rotating 12‑hour schedule and possible overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating control-room or board-operator roles preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with plant safety procedures and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate gas turbines, steam turbine, generators, and water-treatment systems per procedures and dispatch.
• Monitor plant conditions via DCS, alarms, trends, and field indications; act on abnormal conditions.
• Perform startups, shutdowns, and load changes under direction of the Control Room Coordinator.
