Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC in Odessa, Texas, seeks a Control Room Operator to ensure safe, reliable operation of the Odessa Ector Power Plant. You will monitor DCS, perform startups/shutdowns, manage load changes, and support water treatment, plant chemistry, maintenance, and performance activities.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will qualify as Water Plant Operator, Auxiliary Plant Operator, and Control Room Operator under the plant qualification program; must work rotating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete OEPP operator qualification program through WPO, APO, and CRO.
• Willing to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, overtime, emergencies and outages.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn plant control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate gas turbines, steam turbine, generators, and water-treatment systems following procedures.
• Monitor DCS, alarms, trends and field indications; identify abnormal conditions.
• Perform startups, shutdowns, load changes, and transfers safely.
• Respond to plant upsets, stabilize conditions and communicate status.
• Coordinate with Control Room Coordinator and maintenance activities.
• Complete logs and records including logbooks and shift turnovers.
• Follow safety and regulatory requirements including lockout/tagout.
