Job summary

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Settlement Analyst to support our Power Marketing team in Chicago, handling PPAs, market settlements, and energy market compliance across NA markets. The role requires analytical rigor, attention to detail, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure accurate settlements and reporting.

Responsibilities include processing payments, preparing monthly settlement reports, and monitoring regulatory changes affecting energy markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of electricity markets, market regulations, and compliance practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with Canadian Markets (IESO/AESO), ERCOT, and PJM is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Independent judgment and problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer PPAs, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and performance obligations.
• Validate and reconcile all market settlement transactions with system operators; support resettlements.
• Ensure accurate payment processing to and from RTOs/counterparties; document disputes.
• Prepare and submit monthly settlement reports and data to accounting.
• Support analysis of regulations and market rules affecting energy, renewables, and capacity markets.
• Oversee credit and collateral requirements related to PPAs and ISDA, coordinating with Finance and Credit teams.
• Coordinate with QSE and ISO operational teams for market registrations and setup.
• Prepare internal/external reports on transaction status, renewable attributes, and tax equity partner reporting.
• Assist with internal/external audit support and compliance documentation.
