Job summary

Shelton Energy Solutions LLC is seeking an Operator in Alexandria, LA to perform heavy equipment operation in the construction and maintenance of the power grid. You will assist the crew in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems.

The role requires a High school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of heavy equipment experience (preferably in powerline work), and OSHA 10 certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in powerline construction.
• CDL Class A license preferred; must acquire CDL beginner's permit within 60 days.
• Complete OSHA 10 hr Safety Training Program within 90 days.
• Commitment to doing quality work while prioritizing safety.

Responsibilities

• Drives and operates power tools and equipment for the assigned department.
• Operates heavy equipment on job sites (backhoe, track hoe, loader, skid steer, bulldozer, excavator, etc.).
• Monitors gauges during operation for non-standard conditions.
• Aids in tearing down and removing condemned structures.
• Operates around gas lines and other public services.
• Performs maintenance inspections and notifies supervisor of issues.
• Follows project plans and instructions; participates in continuing education.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
