Job summary

Idaho Power, based in the Pacific Northwest, seeks a Generation Technician Apprentice II or Journeyman to join our Power Supply team in Oxbow, Oregon. The role focuses on designing, installing, maintaining, and testing power plant equipment and control systems to ensure safe, reliable energy delivery.

Expect to support SCADA, communication, and HV equipment, while mentoring junior colleagues and leading installation projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and EITHER an Associate's degree in electronics OR completion of an OA-recognized apprenticeship OR equivalent experience.
• 3 years of work experience in electrical, electronics, instrumentation and control, or related field for Apprentice II.
• 5 years of work experience in electrical, electronics, instrumentation and control, or related field for Journeyman.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, maintain, and test power plant equipment and control systems.
• Install and maintain communications, SCADA, protective relays, and HVAC equipment.
• Provide technical resource support for Generation Specialists and lead electrical installation projects.
• Respond to emergencies and work out of town as required.
