Responsibilities

  • Plan efficient routes and deliver top‑notch customer service.
  • Diagnose and repair generator systems—mechanical and electrical.
  • Service and test Automatic Transfer Switches from leading brands.
  • Perform inspections during delivery and scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform inspections during delivery, scheduled maintenance, and post-repair.
  • Keep systems running smoothly with preventive maintenance: fluid/filter changes, AC/DC checks, belt/hose inspections, exhaust evaluations, and load bank testing.
  • Document every detail—diagnostics, time logs, mileage, billing—with precision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized service truck and a professional appearance.
  • Mentor junior technicians and share your expertise.
  • Stay sharp with ongoing training and certifications.
  • Respond to emergency calls and join our 24/7 on‑call rotation.
  • Travel overnight for out‑of‑town assignments (company service truck provided).

Sudden Service, Inc. is looking for a skilled Field Service Power Generator Technician in the LaVergne, TN (or surrounding area) to keep the world running—one generator at a time.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with our Service Manager to plan efficient routes and deliver top‑notch customer service.
  • Diagnose and repair generator systems—mechanical and electrical—like a true problem‑solver.
  • Service and test Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) from leading brands: Generac, Cummins/Onan, Kohler, CAT, MTU, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, Mitsubishi, Doosan.
  • Install new generator assemblies and fine‑tune controls for peak performance.
  • Perform inspections during delivery, scheduled maintenance, and post‑repair.
  • Keep systems running smoothly with preventive maintenance: fluid/filter changes, AC/DC checks, belt/hose inspections, exhaust evaluations, and load bank testing.
  • Document every detail—diagnostics, time logs, mileage, billing—with precision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized service truck and a professional appearance.
